SM J Mall is set to bring a touch of Japan to Cebu with the launch of “J District,” an immersive space that opens to the public on November 29. Located on the second level near Izakaya Terrace, the new attraction aims to offer visitors an authentic Japanese cultural experience.
“J District” invites guests to immerse themselves in the vibrant sights and sounds of Japan. The journey begins with a themed train ride that transports visitors through replicas of iconic Japanese landmarks.
Highlights include a walk through the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where towering bamboo stalks create a tranquil atmosphere, and a visit to the traditional red gates of the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, a symbol of Japan’s rich heritage.
An Anime Room provides a unique experience for fans of Japanese animation.
Visitors can also don Japanese-inspired costumes and use props to capture memorable, Instagram-worthy photos, adding a personalized touch to their cultural exploration.
To access “J District,” shoppers need to present single or combined receipts totaling a minimum of ₱1,500 from any of SM J Mall’s stores at the registration area for validation. Each qualifying purchase grants two entry passes to the attraction.
SM J Mall encourages families and friends to experience the magic of Japan without leaving Cebu. “We are excited to offer our patrons a unique and immersive cultural experience,” a mall representative said. “It’s a perfect opportunity to explore and appreciate Japanese culture right here in our city.”
An exclusive preview for media is scheduled for November 28 at 5 p.m. on the second level near Izakaya Terrace, ahead of the official public opening.
SM J Mall continues to enhance its offerings with attractions like “J District,” aiming to provide diverse experiences that cater to the interests of its shoppers in Cebu.
