Philippine Airlines (PAL) is expanding its Cebu hub by launching a new Cebu-Catarman route and increasing flight frequencies to Siargao.
Starting March 1, the flag carrier will operate a thrice-weekly Cebu-Catarman service, connecting Cebu with Northern Samar’s capital city, a key commercial and educational center in Eastern Visayas.
On the same date, PAL will add midmorning flights on Wednesdays and Sundays to its Cebu-Siargao route, bringing the total weekly flights between Cebu and the popular surfing destination to 18.
The new Cebu-Catarman service will use 86-seater De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft, providing quieter and faster travel.
The route allows Catarman residents to connect to PAL’s Cebu hub, which links to destinations such as Boracay, Coron, Clark, and Puerto Princesa.
To promote the new route, PAL is offering introductory fares as low as PHP 698, available until Jan. 31 for travel starting March 1.
PAL Express President Rabbi Ang said the new routes underscore the airline’s commitment to enhancing inter-island connectivity, boosting tourism, and supporting local economies.
The Cebu-Siargao route has been a popular choice for travelers seeking pristine beaches and lagoons in the surfing capital of the Philippines.
PAL also serves Catarman with four weekly flights to Manila and Siargao with connections to Manila and Clark.
The expansion strengthens PAL’s position as a key player in the domestic aviation market, supporting tourism and economic growth in the Philippines.
