PropTech Philippines is launching its first hackathon in Cebu, aiming to harness the city’s growing tech talent to develop digital solutions for real estate and events industry challenges.
Hackestate: Hackathon 2025 will take place on April 14–15 at the Sacred Heart Center in Cebu City.
Supported by Filipino Homes, the country’s largest real estate service network, the event will gather student teams from 13 Cebu-based universities to build web-based applications focused on usability, creativity, and industry impact.
“This is more than just a competition. It’s a platform for innovation,” said Anthony Gerard Leuterio, CEO of PropTech Philippines and founder of Filipino Homes. “We believe Cebu has some of the brightest tech talents in the country. This event is our way of helping them transform ideas into real-world solutions.”
Leuterio said the hackathon will push participants to go beyond coding. “They’ll study the root causes of real estate problems and create tech that can simplify and elevate property processes.”
Cash prizes of PHP 30,000, PHP 20,000, and PHP 10,000 will be awarded to the top three teams. Participating schools include the University of Cebu, University of San Carlos, University of the Visayas, and University of the Philippines Cebu.
The event also seeks to connect Cebuano students with mentors, employers, and industry leaders. “It’s a rare opportunity to collaborate and learn from those already shaping the future of real estate in the Philippines,” Leuterio said.
PropTech Philippines, an affiliate of Filipino Homes Group, regularly sends teams to tech competitions across Asia, exposing local talent to global trends and best practices.
