The Queen City of the South just welcomed a new academic powerhouse. National University (NU), one of the country’s most respected private universities, officially launched its 13th campus — NU Cebu — with a high-energy event dubbed PAGHIMUGSO 2025, held at the bustling North Wing of SM City Cebu.

The event drew a large crowd of students, parents, and mallgoers who gathered to witness a powerhouse showcase of talent and pride.
The spotlight was on the NU Pep Squad, the UAAP Cheerdance Champions, who delivered two electrifying performances that wowed the audience. NU’s star athletes — alumni from its top-performing basketball and volleyball teams — also made appearances, sharing inspiring stories about their NU journey.
NU executives led by President and CEO Dr. Renato Carlos H. Ermita Jr. flew in to personally grace the launch, joined by local leaders including incoming Cebu City Mayor Engr. Nestor Archival, signaling strong support from both the academic and civic sectors.
